Synopsis

Warsaw 1988. Jerzy decides to try and make his way out to the West. He hopes to wind up in the US, instead, he finds himself in Berlin doing low-skill, under-the-counter work, just barely scraping by and living on the edge. There he meets Ewa who he met before on his last day in Poland. The two grow closer. They accept all jobs but have little time for each other. Yet there are some moments of happiness until Ewa disappears without leaving an address ...
