AQUÍ is based on J. M. Coetzee’s “Jesus Trilogy.” World premiere on May 18, 2026, at “Cannes Premieres.” A Paulo Branco production in collaboration with Filmgalerie 451.

Synopsis

AQUÍ depicts a land of strangers who, after crossing the ocean, must pay for their entry into a new life by completely forgetting their past. There is no “before.” There is no history. Time begins. During this boat journey, a man and a boy meet. Upon their arrival in the new land, they are given a name and an age.
